Your campus card is more than just a student ID

Where to use your card

You'll need your campus card for many different services on campus:

  • Access to you meal plan
  • Residence access
  • Pick up your student mail
  • Printing and copying around campus
  • Purchases at the Bookstore
  • Services at the library and library fees
  • Access to the fitness centre
  • Photo ID for exams

 

For new students, staff, and faculty — how to get your card

How it works:  

  1. Login to the using your Mount Allison email address and password.
  2. Upload a government-issued ID* 
  3. Upload a photo of yourself** 
  4. Hit Submit!  

You will be contacted via email when your Campus Card is ready for pick up.

*The government-issued ID uploads are submitted via a secure portal, accessible only with valid MtA log in. Once submitted and the profile is approved, the government-issued ID is deleted from the profile, permanently removing it from the file. 

**Photo guidelines

You will need to take or upload an acceptable photo using the guidelines below:

  • A recent (within the last 6 months) high-quality colour digital photo  
  • Clear, sharp, and in focus 
  • Taken in front of a neutral background (e.g. white, beige, light grey, or cream) 
  • Front-facing, with face and shoulders centred and squared to the camera 
  • Full face visible, without shadows, and captures accurate skin tones 
  • Prescription glasses are allowed, but no glare  
  • Head coverings for religious beliefs are permitted, as long as facial features remain visible 
  • No hats, sunglasses, or other accessories 
  • No other people, pets, or objects in the photo 
  • No inappropriate gestures or expressions 
  • Do not submit a photo of a photo 
  • Do not submit a filtered or edited photo 

Load your card

Your campus card can be used to load Mountie Money for use around campus, and much more. To load Mountie Money on your card and access your account information:

  • Online: . You'll need a Visa or Mastercard and your student/staff ID. The first time you log in, your ID and PIN are your student/staff ID number
  • Library: an ATM card loader accepts $5, $10, and $20
  • Bookstore: load your card using cash, debit, or credit card
Conditions of use for your campus card
  • Do not tamper with the picture, information, or chip.
  • Do not dent, chip, bend or punch holes in your card. The campus card has small wiring that runs inside the card to make the chip work. If any of the wiring gets broken your card will not work.  You will then need to request a replacement card. The fee for replacement cards is $25.
  • Do not put your card near, water, heat, or magnetic fields.
  • Do not use your card as a window scraper.
  • Do not lend your card to anyone. Both the student loaning the card and the student attempting to use the card will face possible charges under the judicial system.
  • Do not place card on wireless chargers. The contactless technology in your Campus Card is vulnerable to the magnetic fields generated by wireless phone chargers. Students who choose to keep their card in a phone case should be careful to remove the card before wirelessly charging.

If you lose your card

First, and suspend your card.

Visit the Campus Card Office, located in the Facilities Management Building, 155 Main St. or email campuscard@mta.ca. There is a $25 replacement fee for all lost or damaged cards.

Once you leave campus

All funds added to your card, remain on your card while you are a registered student at °®¶¹´«Ã½app.

If you would like to remove your funds from your campus card, please contact financial services. There is a $5 service fee for all refund requests.
