Varsity sports

Our elite student-athletes are some of the best in the country, but they’re also very good at balancing their competitive fire with their intellectual pursuits.

Each year a large number of them are named Academic All-Canadians — an honour and achievement that will serve them well in the years ahead.

Facilities

has a foundation of quality and sustainability in our programs, our services, and our facilities.

Our facilities are available for use by all Mount Allison students and employees, Athletic Centre members, and conference guests.

Athletic Centre

The Athletic Centre is home to the Department of Athletics and Recreation and includes a swimming pool, gymnasium, and weight room that are open to all students.

Gymnasium

The gymnasium hosts our Basketball, Volleyball, and Badminton Mounties, and is available for general use at scheduled open recreation times.

Pool

The swimming pool, located in the lower lever of the Athletic Centre, is available during scheduled membership swim times. It is also the home of our Mounties' Swim team.

Alumni Field

Alumni Field is Mount Allison's main athletics field. It is the home field for Mount Allison football, men's and women's soccer, and men's lacrosse teams, as well as a number of intramural sports.

Fitness Centre and Dance Studio

The Fitness Centre houses cardiovascular and weight training equipment along with a separate dance studio for fitness classes like step, athletic cardio, Zumba, yoga, and personal/group training.

Civic Centre

Located just steps away from campus is the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre, open for lunchtime skating, pick-up hockey, and women's varsity hockey.

 


Beautiful Sackville, which Mount Allison calls home, offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities all year round.

Sackville Waterfowl Park
Winner of Environment Canada's National Award for Environmental Achievement, this 55-acre park includes accessible trails and boardwalks, 160 bird species, and 200 species of plants.

Tantramar Rail Trail
33 km trail (part of the Trans-Canada Trail) passes through boreal forest, freshwater and saltwater marshes.

Silver Lake
Ideal spot for swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing/kayaking, and fishing.

Beech Hill Park
Walking trails with panoramic views of the Tantramar Marsh, offering cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter.

Crooked Tree and Ogden Loop Trails
All-season wilderness trails built and maintained by the Tantramar Outdoor Club.
